To Whom it May Concern:
I am privileged to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of my friend and student, Trisha Trapp. Trisha completed her teaching internship for her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education this spring, during which time I was able to witness tremendous growth and development as an educator. This development came not only in the area of teaching a diverse group of students, but in leadership and character as well.
Trisha entered her practicum with no teaching experience to date. At first, I had trouble keeping up with the energy she exhibited towards teaching her first on-line class. The class she taught with my guidance was Ethical Issues in Healthcare, which is part of the RN-BSN program at Grand Canyon University, and one that is fraught with intense discussions and a multitude of assignments packed in a five week course. From day one Trisha took the reins and set up the classroom, chose appropriate discussion questions that were not redundant but required further exploration into the topic and posted inspirational thoughts or presentations weekly for the students which proved to motivate them to interact with Trisha on a higher level.
Several of her students wrote complimentary notes to her and her ability to engage the students in a positive manner. In addition, if problems arose she was not afraid to consult myself or her instructor for guidance and received constructive criticism well. Trisha quickly recognized the importance of strong work ethic, persistence, and intellectual integrity required as a nurse educator. Trisha proved to be a valuable member of my classroom as a student teacher and became a role model for students in the class.
I recommend Trisha to your educational institution with absolute confidence. She has made me proud as a student and friend, and I look forward to her growth from novice to expert as a nurse educator and beyond.
Thank you for the opportunity of correspondence and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding Trisha Trapp. I may be reached at 603-340-4273 or via [email protected].
